Command Sergeant Major Edgar Rodriguez is a native of Aurora, Illinois. He enlisted in the Army in 1998 and attended Basic Training at Fort Knox, Kentucky and Advanced Individual Training, 63H (Track Mechanic) at Aberdeen Proving Grounds, Maryland.
CSM Rodriguez has served in variety of enlisted leadership positions during his career including a Squad Leader and Shop Foreman while assigned to 77th Maintenance Company in Hanau, Germany. While assigned to the 4th Infantry Division, 64th Forward Support Battalion at Fort Carson, Colorado, he deployed to Operation Iraqi Freedom as a Senior Mechanic and Wrecker Operator. He was selected to serve as a detailed recruiter for Southern California Recruiting Battalion in Anaheim, where he earned the Gold Ring for recruiting excellence. He served as Platoon Sergeant and Senior Maintenance Noncommissioned Officer first assigned to 82nd Sustainment Brigade, then 1st Brigade, 82nd Airborne Division, and later with 11th Armored Cavalry Regiment, all at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. He had the privilege to serve as First Sergeant for B Company, 307th Brigade Support Battalion, Maintenance Troop, 11th Armored Cavalry Regiment, and 84th Ordnance Company; Battalion Operations Sergeant for 307th Brigade Support Battalion; and as Brigade Operations Sergeant Major while assigned to 1st Brigade, 82nd Airborne at Fort Bragg. He then served in G-3 Operations and as Sergeant Major for Material Support Command Korea, Camp Carroll, Republic of Korea. He assumed his present duties September 28, 2018.
His military and civilian education includes all levels of the Noncommissioned Officer Education System, as well as Track Mechanic, Wheeled and Track Recovery, Army Recruiter, Advanced Military Transition Team, Airborne, Jumpmaster, Sling Load Inspector, Lean Six Sigma (Master Black), and Master Resiliency Trainer courses. He is a graduate of Class 68 of the U.S. Army Sergeants Major Academy and Command Sergeants Major course. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Management and a diploma in Automotive/Diesel Technology from Universal Technical Institute.
CSM Rodriguez’ awards and honors include induction into 11th Armored Cavalry Regiment’s Honorary Rolls and Recipient of the Ordnance Order of Samuel Sharpe and the Honorable Order of Saint Martin, as well as holding Demonstrated Senior Logistician and Senior Parachutist Badges.
