Command Sergeant Major Tamara S. Drury is a native of Barstow, California born in San Bernardino, California. She enlisted in the U.S. Army on August 12, 1997, attended Basic Training in Fort Jackson, South Carolina and Advanced Individual Training (AIT) at Aberdeen Proving Grounds, Maryland graduating as a 63G Fuel and Electrical Systems Repairer.

CSM Drury has served in numerous leadership positions, including Squad Leader, Fuel and Electrical Systems Shop NCOIC, Crisis Action Center NCOIC, US ARMY Recruiter, Platoon Sergeant, Command Financial Specialist, Family Advocacy Specialist, AIT Platoon Sergeant, AIT Platoon Sergeant Instructor, First Sergeant, Master Fitness Trainer (MFT), Master Resilience Trainer (MRT), and G4 Maintenance Sergeant Major.

CSM Drury’s duty assignments include 514th Maintenance Company Fort Drum, NY; 317th Maintenance Company Bamberg, GM; 64 Corps Support Group Fort Hood, TX; Los Angeles Recruiting Battalion Long Beach, CA; Regimental Support Squadron 3d Armored Calvary Regiment Fort Hood, TX; C Co 16th Ordnance Battalion Fort Lee, VA; Drill Sergeant Academy Fort Jackson, SC; E Co 3-34 Infantry Battalion Fort Jackson, SC; HHC 593d Expeditionary Sustainment Command Fort Lewis, WA; Sergeants Major Academy Fort Bliss, TX, HHC SIS Co 1st Cavalry Division Fort Hood, TX, and the 16th OD BN, 59th OD BDE, Fort Lee, VA.

CSM Drury’s deployments include one deployment to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom (Liberation of Iraq & Transition of Iraq).

CSM Drury’s military education includes the Basic Leader Course, Advance Leader Course, Senior Leader Course, Company Commander & First Sergeant Course, Sergeants Major Academy, Advance Individual Training Platoon Sergeant Course, Sexual Harassment/Assault Response Prevention (SHARP) Course, Master Resilience Trainer (MRT) Course, Master Fitness Trainer (MFT) Course, TRADOC Pre-Command Course, and the Battalion Pre-Command Course.

CSM Drury’s civilian education includes an Associate Degree in Arts and Science from the University of Maryland, a Bachelor of Science and Liberal Arts Degree from Excelsior College and a Master of Science in Management from Excelsior College.

CSM Drury’s awards and decorations include: The Meritorious Service Medal (5 OLC), Army Commendation Medal (4 OLC), Army Achievement Medal (3 OLC), Meritorious Unit Commendation, Army Good Conduct Medal (8th Award), National Defense Service Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal (2 Bronze Stars), Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Noncommissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon (Numeral 5), Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, Driver and Mechanic’s Badge, and the Gold Recruiting badge with 3 sapphire stars.
