Welcome to the Army Reserve Engagement Team-Japan
We are primarily responsible for advising the U.S. Army Japan (USARJ) commander and his staff on issues relating to the Army Reserve and Reserve components and for administering the Drilling Individual Mobilization Augmentee (DIMA) program.
Many service members are surprised to learn that the U.S. Army has a sizable presence in Japan, and not many know about the Reserve program known as DIMA. Together, these two segments offer a unique opportunity to qualified Army Reserve Soldiers to continue their military service in this amazing country.
USARJ traces its lineage back to U.S. Army Forces, Far East, which was formed in Manila, Philippines, in July 1941 under General of the Army Douglas MacArthur. Today, USARJ is the Army component command of United States Forces, Japan, providing a strategic forward presence, support for regional contingencies, and bilateral engagement with Japan.
If you are already assigned as a DIMA or are interested in the DIMA program, you should find answers to all your questions on this website regarding preparing for and training in Japan.
