Mission Statement

The United States Army Japan Band provides musical support to United States Army units in Japan for its Soldiers, civilians and family members and performs for audiences at a wide spectrum of national and international events including public diplomacy, community and international relations, recruiting initiatives, and music education programs. The Band’s music instills in our forces the will to fight and win, fosters the support of our citizens, as well as the people of our host nation Japan.

There is a lapse of appropriations and there will be limited updates

The most recent appropriations for the Department of War expired at 11:59 p.m. EDT on Sept. 30, 2025. Military personnel will continue in a normal duty status, without pay, until such time as a continuing resolution or appropriations are passed by Congress and signed into law. Civilian personnel not engaged in excepted activities will be placed in a non-work, non-pay status. The documents below are intended to help the War Department workforce during the government shutdown.
