Preparing for and Attending Training

Top Secret (TS) clearances are due every 5 years. You must update your TS clearance at least 6 months before it expires.

Secret clearances are due every 10 years. You must update this as well at least 6 months before it expires.

Security Clearance Verification can be requested through the Reserve Components Office. We will then contact our Security POC’s at HRC to obtain a copy for your section or you as needed.

PLEASE NOTE: HRC will not cut orders on any Soldier lacking a current Security Clearance, including for Annual Training (AT).

To request support for Security Clearance update through HRC, please go to the HRC Security Clearance site, or send e-mail to the HRC Security Section Office at HRCSSecurity@conus.army.mil. The new Web site to request clearances is at this URL: http://www.opm.gov/e-qip. We recommend you contact HRC first before you initiate a request.

There is a lapse of appropriations and there will be limited updates

The most recent appropriations for the Department of War expired at 11:59 p.m. EDT on Sept. 30, 2025. Military personnel will continue in a normal duty status, without pay, until such time as a continuing resolution or appropriations are passed by Congress and signed into law. Civilian personnel not engaged in excepted activities will be placed in a non-work, non-pay status. The documents below are intended to help the War Department workforce during the government shutdown.
