CSM Paul Langley enlisted in the U.S. Army’s Air Defense Artillery in 1994, serving at both Fort Lewis,
Washington and Fort Bliss, Texas before being selected for Army Special Forces. In 2000 he attended
Special Forces Medical Sergeant training with a follow-on assignment to the 1st Special Forces Group
(Airborne). He served at both Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Washington and Okinawa, Japan while
assigned to 1st Special Forces Group.

Throughout his Special Operations career, CSM Langley has served as an Operational Detachment Senior Medical Sergeant, a Detachment Team Sergeant, a Company Operations Sergeant, a Headquarters Company First Sergeant, a Special Forces Company Sergeant Major, and a Battalion Operations Sergeant Major.

He has served as a Squadron Command Sergeant Major in the Army’s Asymmetric Warfare
Group and the Commandant of the U.S. Army Special Operations NCO Academy located at Fort Bragg,
North Carolina. CSM Langley’s most recent assignment was as the Senior Enlisted Leader for Special
Operations Command – Korea, located at Camp Humphreys, Korea.

CSM Langley has been deployed operationally throughout the CENTCOM and INDOPACOM AORs during
his career; he has deployed extensively in combat-roles and in support of Theater Campaign Plans. CSM
Langley has been married for 26 years, he and his wife have three children. He holds a Bachelor of
Science in Strategic Studies and Defense Analysis and a Master of Arts in International Relations.
