Command Sergeant Major Kenneth F. Law is a native of McIntosh, Alabama (Roll Tide). He entered the military in November 1992 attending basic training at Fort Knox, Kentucky, and then starting his career as a Finance Specialist.
In April 1993, he was assigned to the 8th Finance Battalion, Baumholder, Germany, before moving in September 1995 to the 101st Finance Battalion, Fort Campbell, Kentucky. In December 1996 he returned to Germany being assigned to the 39th Finance Battalion in Hanau, then moving to the 369th Adjutant General Battalion at Fort Jackson, South Carolina, in December 2003. In February 2007 CSM Law once again was reassigned to Germany, first with the 266th Finance Command in Kaiserslautern and in April 2008 transferred to Bravo Detachment, 208th Financial Management Company, in Wiesbaden. He was next stationed with the 24th Financial Management Support Unit, Fort Stewart, Georgia, in March 2010 and in June 2012 transferred to the 1st Sustainment Brigade, Fort Riley, Kansas. In August 2013 he attended the U.S. Army Sergeants Major Academy at Fort Bliss, Texas, and upon graduation he was again assigned to Fort Stewart in August 2014. He assumed his present duties in September 2016.
In these postings, CSM Law’ served in a variety of positions including Finance Specialist, Noncommissioned Officer in Charge Accounting, In & Out-Processing, Military Pay and Internal Control NCOIC, Drill Sergeant, Detachment Sergeant, First Sergeant and Senior Financial Management Advisor.
His awards and decorations include the Bronze Star, Meritorious Service Medal with three oak leaf clusters, Army Commendation Medal with four oak leaf clusters, Joint Service Achievement Medal, Army Achievement Medal with one silver oak leaf cluster, Army Good Conduct Medal (7th Award – two silver loops), National Defense Service Medal with one service star, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal with one service star, Iraq Campaign Medal with one service star, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Armed Forces Service Medal, Noncommissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon with numeral 4 device, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon with numeral 5 device, and NATO Medal. He also holds the Air Assault Badge and the Drill Sergeant Badge.
CSM Law has completed all levels of the Noncommissioned Officer Education System and is a graduate of Class 64 of the United States Army Sergeants Major Academy. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from the University of Alabama and a Master’s Degree in Business from the University of Phoenix.
