88th Military Police Detachment
The unit was constituted in the Regular Army July 7, 1952, as the 88th Military Police Criminal Investigation Detachment and activated August 10, 1952, at Camp Gordon, Georgia.
On January 1, 1954, it was redesignated as the 88th Military Police Detachment and inactivated March 24, 1965.
The unit was again activated August 13, 1965, at Camp Dix, New Jersey, and then inactivated January 10, 1966, in the Republic of Vietnam.
It was activated November 3, 1966, at Fort Riley, Kansas, and later inactivated in Thailand on June 25, 1971.
On September 16, 2001, the unit was activated in Japan and based at Camp Zama.
