Command Sergeant Major
CSM Perry C. Williamson serves as Command Sergeant Major of the 83rd Ordnance Battalion at Camp Kure Japan. As Command Sergeant Major, CSM Williamson serves as the primary advisor to the Commander on all matters pertaining to enlisted personnel assigned to the Command, particularly in areas related to their training and development and to the quality of life and well-being of Soldiers and their families. CSM Williamson also responds to the concerns of civilian and contractor employees of the Command, and performs community outreach activities.
CSM Williamson entered the Army in April 1992. He completed basic training at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. His Advance Individual Trainings (AITs) includes Technical Drafting Specialist at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri; Power Generator Repair at Fort Belvoir, Virginia and Ammunition Specialist at Redstone Arsenal, Alabama.
During his career, CSM Williamson has served in a number of enlisted leadership positions. His First Sergeant positions include, 612th Quartermaster Company Aerial Supply (Airborne), Fort Bragg, NC and HHC, 142nd Combat Sustainment Support Battalion, Fort Polk, Louisiana with a combat tours in Southwest Asia during Operation Iraqi Freedom. He served as an Observer Controller with the Joint Readiness Training Center, Fort Polk, Louisiana with temporary duty at the National Training Center and the Combat Maneuver Training Center. His Platoon Sergeant duty was with 8th Ordnance Company (Munitions), Fort Bragg, NC. CSM Williamson’s other duty assignments include, Alpha, Company 38th Field Artillery, Camp Stanley, Korea; HHC, 1-2 Aviation (Attack), Camp Page, Korea; HHC, DISCOM, Camp Casey, Korea; and HHC 19th ESC Camp Henry, Korea. His remaining CONUS assignments include 24th Ordnance Company (Munitions), Hunter Army Airfield, GA; A Co, 124th Signal Battalion, Fort Carson, CO and 209 Signal Company, Fort Huachuca, AZ.
CSM Williamson is a graduate of the U.S. Army Sergeants Major Academy at Fort Bliss, Texas. His military training and education includes Battalion Pre-Command Course, Airborne School, Sling load Inspector Certification Course, Observer Controller Course, Army Recruiter Course, Battle Staff NCO Course, Support Operations Phase I and II, and the Senior Leaders course. He was the distinguished graduate of his class in the Advance Leaders Course, Power Generations Repair Course and the Ammunition Specialist Course. CSM Williamson graduated on the Commandants list from the First Sergeants Course. He holds an Associate’s Degree in Psychology from Troy University.
CSM Williamson’s awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal; Army Commendation Medal (eight awards); Army Achievement Medal (six awards); Good Conduct Medal (six awards); National Defense Service Medal with one bronze star; Iraq Campaign Medal with two bronze stars; Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Korean Defense Service Medals; NCO Professional Development Ribbon with Numeral Four; Army Service Ribbon; Overseas Service Ribbon with Numeral Four; Meritorious Unit Commendations and the Army Superior Unit award. His badges include the Airborne Badge, Recruiter Badge with one gold star and the Australian Parachutist Badge.
