HHC, 35 CSSB

The Headquarters and Headquarters Company the 35th Support Battalion (CSSB) was activated in the turbulence of WWII at Ft. Devens, Massachusetts in March of 1944. After training and fitting with equipment, the unit was deployed to Okinawa to fight with the 10th Corps in the Ryukus Campaign where it served with distinction. Following WWII, the 35th served in support of the Korean War and then made its home in Germany until it was inactivated in 1972. Fourteen years later, in 1986 the 35th was activated here at Sagami General Depot to oversee the care and maintenance of Army Propositioned Stocks and Equipment valued at over $300 million. Over the last 18 years, the HHC, 35th Support Battalion distinguished itself year after year, providing outstanding logistics support to U.S. Army Japan, setting the standard for the U.S. Army in the maintenance of Army War Reserves resulting in combat ready equipment. More recently the 35th has transitioned to a Unit of Action and is now able deploy throughout the world. The HHC, 35th Support Battalion is truly a significant combat multiplier for the U.S. Army.
