Army Knowledge Online (AKO)

Vision

To conduct no-notice mission command in support of Unified Land Operations in and around Japan and throughout the Army Pacific area of responsibility; the command of choice for Soldiers, Families, and Civilians.


U.S. Army Japan Mission

USARJ serves as a forward stationed Army command and control headquarters; supports regional security cooperation activities and conducts full spectrum operations with the Japan Ground Self Defense Force for the purpose of “contributing to the security of Japan and maintenance of peace and security in the Far East;” provides communities of excellence and installation operations that support Soldiers, Civilians, and their Families.


I Corps (Forward) Mission

The forward command and control node supporting U.S. Army current and future enhanced regional security cooperation activities with the Japan Ground Self Defense Force for the execution of military operations in Japan and areas surrounding Japan. On order, I Corps (Forward) deploys as a tactical CP and conducts operations to accomplish US National Security Objectives.
