Mission

The mission of the Legal Assistance Office is to:

Provide superior legal assistance to assist eligible clients with personal legal affairs, including but not limited to:
Providing notary services;
Preparing legal documents such as Powers of Attorney, Wills, Living Wills, Advance Medical Directives, and other legal correspondence;
Providing legal advice and counseling on such issues as family law, consumer law, property law, estate planning, SGLI, Servicemembers Civil Relief Act, and assistance with Japanese legal matters;
Provide Preventative Law measures to assist the community through legal training and assistance to avoid common legal problems whenever possible.

United States Army, Japan (USARJ) is provided as a public service by the USARJ Public Affairs Office and the 78th Signal Battalion.

Except for authorized law enforcement investigations, no other attempts are made to identify individual users or their usage habits. Raw data logs are used for no other purposes and are scheduled for regular destruction in accordance with [National Archives and Records Administration Guidelines].
Unauthorized attempts to upload information or change information on this service are strictly prohibited and may be punishable under the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act of 1987 and the National Information Infrastructure Protection Act.
